The House
Ewing House is a rental villa on a hillside, 60 feet above sea level, bordered by the ocean on two sides and overlooks the "mile-long" Long Bay Beach on Tortola in the British Virgin Islands.
You're a one minute walk from the water as the beach begins at the foot of our driveway - about 50 yards from our house.
We are one of only a few houses on the island that are really located right on a usable beach. This is a very beautiful beach, which you may recognize when you see it, as it often appears on calendars and other publications on the Caribbean.
There are two entrances to the house, one is a walkway halfway up the hill with access from the road.
The second is the Ewing House driveway, which doubles as the walk to the beach.
On the upper (main) floor there is a large central living-dining room, a kitchen, a powder room and two bedrooms. The living-dining room and the two bedrooms at the ends of the main floor open onto a 56 x 6 ft. balcony.
The downstairs floor has a bedroom that opens to a terrace on one side and a partially roofed patio on the other, with ocean views on both sides. This bedroom has its own bathroom and kitchenette. All bedrooms are of equal size, and have the same beautiful views.
Living room
From the living room, is central to the house and - with the two bedrooms at the ends of the main floor - opens onto a 56 x 6 ft. balcony. From here, you can see the "mile-long" Long Bay Beach and a number other islands, such as Jost Van Dyke and St. Thomas. We do feel that we have the most beautiful view on the island. Others must feel the same way as we've had one couple take the house for a month each year for more than 20 years and a number of other couples who have come in the area of five years or more
The house has wifi internet access and cable TV.
The kitchens
Ewing House has a kitchen on the upper floor, accessible from the living-room, and a kitchenette on the lower floor.
The bedrooms
The house has 3 bedrooms, each with air-conditioning, a view of the water and separate bath. Daily maid service is included in the rental.
All bedrooms are of equal size, and have the same beautiful views. There are plenty of king sizes sheets so that the beds can be made up as king sized, if you choose. The downstairs bedroom opens to a terrace on one side and a partially roofed patio on the other, with ocean views on both sides. This bedroom has its own bathroom and kitchenette. We do not rent the third bedroom separately, so you always have the house to yourself.
